PRETTY UGLY  „Against the background of buzzing and humming industrial sounds, five dancers whirl across the stage, allow themselves to fall and then support each other. That sends shiver down spines." (Exress)

PARALIOPMENA „In abstract and ambiguous signs, she evokes and conjures up space." (Stadtrevue)

FOUR FOR NOTHING „A choreography with brilliant insights in which the relationship between works of art and artists is foregrounded." (Kölnische Rundschau)

Pretty Ugly / Paralipomena / Four For Nothing

PRETTY UGLY The ballet provoked memories not only of New York street life but also Tokyo-style erotic manga cartoons. The dancers dangle and swing, kick, and generally move at a breathtaking tempo in formations and pairings that are continually reforming anew; they throw out aggressive solos, loll about in what seems to be totally unlimited sensuality. Life pulsates in 'Pretty Ugly', just as it does in nocturnal New York street-life where it too is raw and without cosmetic improvements .

PARALIPOMENA (Greek) refers to the rest, to the parts left out, the parts unused. Not the statue but the chips of stone. Whether they bear in their forms the inverse of the form they once hugged so closely is no longer of any account.

FOUR FOR NOTHING This ballet was created originally for a small stage. It's intention was above all to allow the energy of Bach's concertos to unfold even in such a small space, and the audience can perceive how the piece find its way despite those spatial restrictions. The individual elements literally rebounded back from the walls against each other.
