Fair is foul and foul is
fair
Two women, two worlds, twenty years
history. Amanda Miller and Kate Strong encountered each
other for the first time on the stage of Frankfurt's
ballet company. Since then their uninterrupted work
together has dovetailed them. Kate Strong has
contributed to Amanda Miller's choreographies 'Pizza
Girl' (1984), 'Stein, Schere, Papier' ['Stone, scissors,
paper'](1986), 'Red Run' (1988), 'Four for Nothing'
(1997), and 'Oberon's Flower' (2002). 'Fair is foul and
foul is fair' provides an intimate portrait of their
work and friendship.
"What
do the two ballerinas have to do and say that they are
unable to express with dance? An amazing amount of
diverging material is contained in this three-quarters
of an hour: love, belief, death and devilry, memories of
tragic losses and unholy kicks from stagings that have
become rituals, the essence of friendship and your
never-ending grief for dead companions one loved."
